The only problem? We didn’t have Spielberg’s sign-off. We went to his office and even went as far as leaving a note on his car, posting about it on Twitter all along the way. Spielberg eventually responded to us in a video message and Twitter blew up, earning us international and local news coverage.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Since 2009, I’ve worked on brands like Red Bull, Carl’s Jr., Dove, New York Lottery, Homegoods, Southwest Airlines, Tempur-pedic, Uber at places like McCann, New York &amp; 72andSunny, LA. In 2021, I took a full-time remote VP role at Edelman, New York so I’d have the freedom to work from my home office in Portland, Oregon. My best work has come out of working directly with clients, because selling imaginative ideas is easy when they line up with business needs. In addition to leading teams, I also find joy in helping creatives grow. I’ve spent time teaching at Bookshop Los Angeles and am currently mentoring black creatives at One School New York. Here’s an article where I talk about my approach to work. It’s a couple years old, but still true. I thrive when learning new things and challenging myself to do what scares me. Things like, teaching English to exiled Tibetans in Dharamsala, learning Portuguese while living in Brazil during the 2016 World Cup (Oi gentileza!), running the LA + SF marathons, scuba diving into Japanese shipwrecks from WW2, and releasing a mediocre rock album on Spotify.
